PARTNERS

  • I swung a leg over my first Pivot in 2018 and haven’t looked back. Pivot bikes have carried me to victories in a 24hr world championship, self supported FKTs, on bikepacking trips across remote mountain ranges and deserts, to strong performances in stage races, 100 milers, cross country races, gravel races, and fat bike expeditions. In addition to being a company run by great people, Pivot’s commitment to quality and excellence in engineering is unmatched which is evidenced by 8 years of riding without any frame mechanicals or mishaps.

  • Handmade in Asheville, NC is just one quality of Industry Nine. In addition to being designed, tested and produced in the rugged trails of the Appalachain Mountains, Industry Nine wheels and hubs have been a cornerstone of how I perform on a bike - from ultra-endurance racing to big backcountry riding, the unmatched hub engagement is now a quality of a wheel I wouldn’t be able to ride without. Knowing your wheels will keep rolling, endure any length trip or demanding terrain is why I’ve partnered exclusively with Industry Nine for hubs and wheels since 2018.

  • After I first bikepacked with just a backpack in 2010, I learned about bikepacking bags. At the time Revelate Designs was one of the only bikepacking bag manufacturers, and were an easy choice to purchase their bags because they had already been making bags for a few years. 15 years later I still choose Revelate Designs, and feel incredibly lucky to have been partnered with them for 11 of those years. Being a part of their evolution from one of the first bag manufacturers to now the leader in the space has been a treat. I still have some of my original harnesses, seat bags and cockpit bags because they’re so well made they can last decades! These days I love being a part of testing and providing feedback for their endless creative solutions to mountain bags on all types of bikes, and the fact that they’re incredible people, love dogs and winter as much as I do makes the partnership more than a sponsorship.

  • In 2024 COROS released their first ever cycling gps computer, which also happened to be solar chargeable. Already a leader in the adventure and sports wearables space, it wasn’t surprising that their first cycling device was noteworthy for an adventure cyclist. I’m excited to be working with COROS as the DURA is continuing to improve from an already wildy capable platform. It’s remarkable to now go race ultras and head out on multi-day trips knowing I won’t have to charge my GPS unit while also having excellent navigation, training metrics, and a user-friendly app interface to sync my routes, upload and share my activities to various sites.

  • It’s not a coincidence that I haven’t run a tire other than Maxxis tires since 2017 - after tearing and puncturing multiple other brands when trying to race in the desert, I converted to Maxxis for the then-newer sidewall technology. Maxxis has continued to lead the industry in tires that blend traction, durability, rolling speed, tread compound and weight for the perfect tire option for the riding and terrain at hand.

  • For big goals and adventures, success is in the details. Customizing my bike components and selecting the tools that are right for my needs in a repair kit are details that Wolftooth Components robust catalog of parts, tools, and accessories makes possible. From a specific sized chainring to a quality headset to a dropper post that lasts seasons without servicing, to clever, super packable tools, Wolftooth’s partnership helps me refine the details of my kit (and adds style to it while doing so)!

  • My background in adventures and bikepacking is rooted in an education in wilderness travel where map reading, navigation and route planning is an essential basic skill. In the digital world it’s easy to get by without great skills in these areas, but to go the places I go, be self-sufficient on long routes, and train at the volume I train, capable route planning and navigation is essential. Ride With GPS is hands down the best mapping software for cyclists and is an essential tool for my job, and how I share much of how I do what I do and go where I go!

  • GU Energy Labs and I have agreed carbs are king in endurance sports for years. As nutrition revolutions continue to pop up, GU has remained steady in offering sports nutrition that is backed by science, and they have a formula that works, and it comes in enough flavors and consumable options that you can find the ideal nutrition source for any activity, any time of year. It’s for that reason I have continued to unwaveringly choose GU Roctane products, with a side of stroopwafels or chews for years and years, and don’t need to look elsewhere for specific sports nutrition.

  • Shimano is known for industry leading excellence in engineering and product design for all types and levels of bike builds. Across my XC race bike, trail bikes, gravel bike and fat bike, XTR, XT, and GRX components provide the performance, durability, and serviceability that I need. Because of how fine tuned these groupsets are, I have developed the confidence to learn to build and work on my own bikes, leading to a greeter sense of self-efficacy while out on solo, remote and long trips - I can’t say this would be possible without the reliability and well-designed nature of Shimano drivetrains and brakes. Plus, after years of searching for the perfect adventure and ultra racing cycling shoe - one that pedals well, hikes well, and is comfortable for days on the pedals, I’ve come to rely on Shimano shoes combined with Shimano pedals for perfect pedaling performance, all day comfort and easy clipping in with the shoe/pedal interface, and remarkable durability (a pair can last more than a season, compared to other brands where a pair would last a trip).

  • I do a lot to mitigate risk on my solo adventures, but there’s inherent risk in spending so much time out riding and recreating alone. Wearing a tiny, waterproof and durable medical ID tag gives me, and my husband (and parents) peace of mind that if something happened to me, whoever responds will have my emergency contact information. I love that they live on my helmets and packs, so when I’m going out the door the KOPILOT ID tag is with me, I don’t have to decide to take it or wear it.

  • There’s a time and a place for going fast, and when it’s time to prioritize performance, fabric and quality of kit matters. Rapha kits are the only ones I that I find the lightest, fastest materials to be comfortable to wear for days that blend into one continuous ride. As someone who has always preferred loose, casual clothing, I’ve learned from my experience in Rapha that materials matter, aero makes a difference and when it’s time to optimize performance it’s worth dressing up for the occasion.

  • Patagonia has been a leader as an outdoor brand that is defying the norm of how to do business. As a cyclist who ventures off the well traveled path into farther, more remote places, I rely on gear built to endure all conditions to let me keep going regardless of how hard I’m pushing or how hard the weather is pushing me. It’s a pleasure to partner for projects with a brand who values the message beyond the goal - the value of the place, the quality of the experience, the why behind the mission.

  • I've always preferred reliable, durable, well made gear. It's why I love my older Toyota pick-up trucks, why I ride the bikes I ride and why my husband and I built our own house. I want the things I use to perform and last a lifetime, and to come from a company that is dedicated to community and the environment. 1Up racks fit perfectly into my ethos around gear; they carry my bikes reliably, are simple yet functional, and will probably even outlive my trucks. I've always loved traveling and living out of the back of my pick-ups, the durability of the Heavy Duty paired with a Rakattach brings my bikes along for the trip while maintaining access to my camping space!

  • The three contact points of cyclist to bike are SO overlooked by how bikes are sold/bought but are the three places that cause the most discomfort, and can alternatively provide excellent control and comfort for a rider: the butt, hands, and feet. Ergon offers ergonomically, researched products for all contact points. The Women’s SR Pro saddle has been the saddle I use on all my bikes, for all my riding, without a single saddle issue since I had mine professionally fit in 2019 (and no chamois needed)! I use GXR and GA3 grips for my flat bars, selecting the grip depending on the terrain and style of riding I’ll likely be doing. Ergon exists so sore saddle areas, and numb hands and feet don’t have to be a part of the cycling experience. I wouldn’t ride if they were, and I’m grateful those issues are not one I have to worry about!

  • I’ve used power as the primary metric for training and measuring training load for over 10 years now, which included being one of the early people to record power along a multi-day bikepacking race. 4iiii Precision 3 power meters have made the metric a lot easier to attain on all my bikes with their factory install system - I can run the Shimano cranks I prefer in the length I need (165mm), and have power on my bikes. While I don’t always use power to guide a ride, the consistency in the data helps me plan my training on a macro and micro scale, and using power has proven to be an invaluable tool in pacing myself at the beginning of ultra endurance races and stage races where we need to race the first half with the second half of the race in mind!

  • In my former life, I mostly carried my gear on my back. These days I mostly carry my gear on my bike, but when I carry it on my back I want it to be lightweight and comfortable, because at 37 I have a fused sacrum and still want to go farther, faster. Hyperlite Mountain Gear packs have been my pack of choice since working multi-week and semester long wilderness courses as an educator and guide, and these days they’re how I go farther in the backcountry in the winter for ski oriented objectives. Whether in a pack or on my bike, a lightweight shelter tough enough to provide protection in all conditions is a critical part of any overnight kit, Hyperlite’s suite of shelters combines simple, lightweight and durable - ideal for any outing.

  • My head and eyes are arguably the most important part of my body being able to do what I ask of it. I’m lucky to have never had a concussion, and I attribute much of that to spending so many years in SMITHS MIPS helmets. The protection plus how stable it is with a light, breathable for my head full of hair, cradles my ponytail AND securely holds SMITH glasses when the light shifts or lenses need cleaning, are why I’m only interested in wearing SMITH.

  • I’m not a night owl, but I’ve learned over the years that I will NEVER regret waking up to be up high for sunrise, that incredible experiences occur when you allow yourself to travel through a night, and that a whole other world exists under the darkness of night. Having reliable lighting that isn’t bulky and heavy, lasts a long time, and throws the right amount of light to keep my brain happy and eyes reading the terrain is critical to those experiences being successful rather than stressful. I’ve tried all the known lights in the cycling industry and have intentionally continued to return to Fenix Lighting for all ultra racing, bikepacking, backcountry adventures, and dawn patrol needs. They’re simply the best out there.
